Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United States. In 2001, she established The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the business to NRT for $66 millions. Shortly thereafter she left the company. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared on every seasons of Shark Tank. As of February 2020 she had closed 53 deals. The largest of these was a $350,000 investment to Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran is the second child of 10 from a working-class Irish-Catholic family, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a housewife. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing between jobs throughout Corcoran's youth. At times, her family relied on the delivery of food for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as one who often was a drinker and did her mother a disservice and contempt, particularly when he'd been drinking. Corcoran struggled in school, and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was a failure in several courses in her freshman year, transferred to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
